The best way to work with multiple touch-points at a company is to connect e-mails to activities. This allows you to view what your salespeople or service department are e-mailing with the customer to stay up-to-date on information. Salesforce makes this process easy by automatically connecting the e-mail to the related contact in an opportunity, contact, or lead.
This is done through Einstein Activity Capture, click that link to see if your Salesforce instance is capable of connecting e-mail to Salesforce first.
Next, we will want to make sure that it is enabled. From an Admin account, go to setup and search “Einstein Activity Capture”, then click Settings. You’ll want to make sure that it is turned on for your organization.
There are other settings in this area, but the default will bring in e-mails once the e-mails are connected.

After this is turned on, everyone in the organization will receive a prompt to input their e-mail and password to connect Einstein Activity Capture. If this was already turned on, or if the users miss the prompt, you can follow the next section.
1. From the user account, click “View Profile” on the top right and settings.

2. Then we want to start in “Email and Calendar Accounts” to ensure that the e-mail account is connected to Salesforce.

3. Once we have the account connected, we need to make sure that the sharing settings are set to share with everyone or with certain teams.

With this enabled, you will be able to see related e-mails in the activities section of leads, opportunities, etc. This is incredibly helpful for other people to work on the same objects in Salesforce, or pick up quickly where you left off. Einstein Activity Capture will automatically associate the related e-mail to the proper object. It will look like this in your Activities area. (E-mail) information hidden for privacy.
